CoyIM Installation Guide - Linux

CoyIM Installation

  1. Go to CoyIM download section: https://coy.im/download/
  2. Select the option Download for Linux and the download will start automatically.
  3. By default, the program will be saved in the Downloads folder.
  4. (Recommended) Verify the integrity of the download.
    • Download the verification file (checksum) corresponding to Linux (coyim_linux_amd64_checksum).
    • In a terminal window, execute the following command: 
      sha256sum /path/to/file/coyim_linux_amd64
    • The command will generate an alphanumeric code that must be equal to the content of the file: coyim_linux_amd64_checksum.
  5. (Optional) It’s possible to move the file to the directory of your preference.
  6. Right-click on the file coyim_linux_amd64 and select the option Properties.
  7. Go to the tab Permissions, select the optioin Allow executing file as program and close the window.
  8. Run CoyIM double-clicking on its icon.
  • After starting CoyIM for the first time, You’ll be able to access to the application through the search bar that appears pressing the Win key. Write CoyIM on the bar and click on the CoyIM icon that appears as a result of your search.
